The biggest crypto market story over the last 24 hours was the reported Bitget hack, with losses estimated between $351.6 million and $387.5 million. Bitget said attackers compromised wallet-backend infrastructure and spoofed transaction data, while customer funds and cold wallets remained safe.
The incident renewed concerns about centralized-exchange custody and operational security. Circle and Tether froze a hacker-controlled wallet containing about $318,000 in USDT and USDC. Some social-media posts speculated about North Korean involvement, but that claim remains unconfirmed.

ETF flows turned positive
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs moved from a cumulative $5.8 billion net outflow at their July low to approximately $800 million in net inflows for 2026. The improvement followed a six-session inflow streak. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs also recorded five consecutive sessions of inflows, including approximately $66.01 million in the latest reported session.
Solana upgrade reached a second public test network
Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade reached its second public test network on 26 September 2026. The upgrade targets transaction finality of approximately 150 milliseconds, compared with about 12.8 seconds under the existing system.
SEC issued new crypto-asset guidance
The SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance published updated crypto-asset FAQs on 25 September 2026. The guidance addressed investment-contract tokens, token buybacks, network upgrades and profit promises. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce also announced her departure for the following week.
