NFT Platform Terra Virtua Is Auctioning 1 Of 1 Godzilla vs. Kong NFTs

Terra Virtua is launching auctions for exclusive Godzilla vs. Kong NFTs

Starting Friday, NFT platform Terra Virtua is hosting 3 auctions for digital collectibles tied to the blockbuster movie Godzilla vs. Kong.

Terra Virtua is a platform for digital collectibles that offers a highly immersive experience to its users. For example, the Terra Virtua’s mobile app brings users’ collectibles to life by placing them in an augmented reality environment. The platform’s Terradome software allows users to show off their NFT collection in customizable virtual spaces. 

The first auction in the recently announced series is kicking off today and will feature an exclusive 1-of-1 NFT of a fully animated 3D Mechagodzilla model. Following the Mechagodzilla auction, the platform will also hold auctions for 1-of-1 NFTs featuring Godzilla and Kong models.  

The auctions will be open to Terra Virtua users who registered either with their debit or credit card, or connected to their account through their Metamask wallet.

Godzilla vs. Kong was a success among viewers, and was also positively received by critics. In late April, the movie crossed the $400 million threshold, and is one of the most successful releases of the pandemic period. This also translated in demand for NFTs featuring the movie’s signature monsters, as explained by Terra Virtua CEO Gary Bracey:

“The demand we saw for Godzilla vs. Kong NFTs in March was insane and often had people complaining they didn’t manage to get what they wanted, so, with the release on Bluray earlier this week, it makes sense to kick off a renewed push by auctioning each of the enormous titans; Mechagodzilla, Godzilla and Kong.” 

A post shared by Terra Virtua notes that on secondary markets, some of the NFTs from the original Godzilla vs. Kong NFT collection were sold at prices 15,000% higher than their initial purchase price. The original NFTs from the Godzilla vs. Kong collection can be viewed on the Terra Virtua website.

The 1-of-1 Mechagodzilla NFT will be going on auction with a reserve price of $50,000.
