Kahina Van Dyke, one of the biggest veterans in the banking industry, has just announced that she will be joining the financial services company Standard Chartered this week. Van Dyke previously served as the senior vice president and head of the business and corporate development at the San Francisco-based firm, Ripple.

Going off the official announcement, Van Dyke will be serving as the global head of Standard Chartered corporate commercial and institutional banking arm.

Looking outside of Van Dyke, the financial firm has made big recruits this year including the Chief Executive Simon Cooper (CCIB at Standard Chartered).

“Kahina is joining my team at a pivotal time in our development. We have achieved a number of successes with clients, at times developing our own platforms and at others forging partnerships with fintechs, and we’re not standing still – this is a statement of intent.”

The former executive at Ripple had joined the cryptocurrency company in July 2018 with her leaving the company in January this year. Van Dyke’s main role is focused on driving new and strategic partnerships for the business across on an international scale. Van Dyke previously held executive roles at Facebook and Mastercard just to name a few.

“It is a privilege to be joining Standard Chartered, an institution with a rich legacy and a truly unique global footprint. We will deepen and expand our leverage of digital technology and data analytics to deliver real economy impact to clients and communities around the world.”
