Despite abandoning the Ghost project, John McAfee is still going to be somewhat involved in the ecosystem

• Going off his message, many people assumed that he was leaving the project indefinitely and completely but since then, he has clarified that this isn’t necessarily the case.

Last week, we published an article on John McAfee where he said that he had left his own privacy-focused Ghost project. Going off his message, many people assumed that he was leaving the project indefinitely and completely but since then, he has clarified that this isn’t necessarily the case.

Following his leave of the project, McAfee emailed Cointelegraph saying that he hasn’t completely left the privacy ecosystem of the project. You can see a snippet of the email below:

"I have not abandoned the Ghost privacy ecosystem, only the GHOST privacy coin. The ecosystem is centered on our Ghost cell phone service.”

On the 19th of August, McAfee took to Twitter to announce the news that he was abandoning the project saying that due to poor management, he could only see failure in its future.

Further speaking to Cointelegraph:

"The Ghost coin project was led by Josh Case. He is involved in multiple projects - Clearpoll - a blockchain based polling system, Ethershift, Ethershare and other irrelevant projects. When I demanded that he abandon them and focus on GHOST he refused. I finally gave up and abandoned it."

McAfee is perhaps best known within the crypto space for making outrageous predictions on the leading a Cryptocurrency. 

He has previously estimated that by the end of 2020, bitcoin would reach $1 million if it doesn’t then he would pledge to eat his own manhood…

Although, since his outrageous prediction he has confirmed that he doesn’t actually believe that the flagship Cryptocurrency could reach such a height.
