Visa Seeking To Hire Blockchain Engineer with Strong Expertise in Ethereum Blockchain

Payments giant, Visa has announced that it is looking for blockchain engineers to join its commercial payments organization. The company claims multiple open job positions are available in Austin (Texas), and Foster City (California) locations.

According to a recent job posting, the payment giant said it is specifically hiring someone with strong expertise in Ethereum and its blockchain architecture to be a part of team tasked with building distributed application.

The responsibilities of Visa’s new hire will include working on emerging technologies and partnering with Product on implementation strategy. The individual is also expected to ensure design and build of solutions leverages cross-asset concepts and framework.

According to the announcement, the ideal candidate for this position has built and released distributed applications. The candidate should be someone who has worked with the Ripple, R3, Ethereum and or Bitcoin blockchain. The person should also be well versed in the Solidity programming language that is used for building smart contracts.

Furthermore, the candidate should have experience in Trade Finance and Equities. The individual must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of experience with distributed software development. Demonstrating passion for Fintech innovation, open source software contributions, blockchain, cryptography, and data-science is a competitive advantage to the candidate. 

The new hire will be working in Visa’s Commercial Payments organization, the team responsible for managing the company’s B2B Payment innovation which was launched last June. B2B Connect is a blockchain-powered service which allows Visa’s corporate clients to conduct instant and frictionless cross-border transfers. The group is also responsible for defining and building the Non-Card based payment innovation and product for Visa Globally.

According to the announcement, the group focuses on achieving “5 priority verticals”. These include Blockchain-based cross-border payment platform, Near time settlement, Enterprise ID stamping, Hyperledger chain-code development in Go-lang, and Analytics and data visualization.
