Dash Core Group developers have launched DashDirect consumer payment application, which allows using DASH cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services of merchants in the United States.

The application was developed jointly by the fintech company CrayPay and the Dash Core Group. The project was funded by the Dash Investment Foundation, which is focused on developing a peer-to-peer payment platform ecosystem.

More than 155,000 retail outlets and 125 online retailers in the US accept DashDirect as a payment method, according to a press release. The application allows you to save up to 12% on purchases due to discounts provided by project partners.

The latter included retail chains Best Buy, GameStop, Home Depot, and other merchants.

The company believes that the launch of the application is helping the adoption of cryptocurrency among ordinary consumers, since "now a person has a real reason to use digital assets." At the time of writing, it is available exclusively in the United States but plans to expand the product to new markets in the future.

The developers emphasized that DashDirect is a non-custodian application. It uses the official Dash wallet to access user funds and does not charge any fees for converting funds.
