Exchange Kraken will stop serving Russian users

Last week, the cryptocurrency exchange Cryptopay announced the termination of services for users from the Russian Federation. The trading platform motivated its decision by the need to comply with the sanctions imposed on Moscow by Western countries.

The day before, another bitcoin exchange, Kraken, sent out a similar notice to Russian traders about blocking their accounts.

Due to new European sanctions laws, we need to take steps to limit what you can do with your Kraken account. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thus, Kraken has been added to the list of cryptocurrency services that stop servicing Russian users.

Recently, the Bitfinex platform attempted to demonstrate an independent stance and stated that it would not comply with sanctions laws.

However, after that, the top manager of the exchange, Joe Morgan, unexpectedly announced that Bitfinex would comply with the laws of the countries where it operates, including the sanctions regime.
