What you summon is yours, eternal, and cannot be unmade. Six ranks rise from the lowly Wisp to the gold-crowned Riverborn and only ten Riverborn will ever exist. Souls may attempt the Crossing: give one as fuel to raise another a rank. The fuel burns; the soul you raise is never lost. The higher you climb, the harder the river runs. The river is patient, but it is not kind. Some souls are received. Some are returned. Answer the Ferryman.
