SpaceX (bStocks Tokenized Stock) news today centers on the parent company's move to keep its shares off a planned tokenized stock venue. SPCXB trades at $134.96, down 0.30% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization of $206.42M.
SpaceX objects to OKXICE tokenized listing
According to a Nov. 2 public notice from OKXICE, SpaceX has objected to the proposed listing of tokenized versions of its shares on the trading venue, a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and New York Stock Exchange parent Intercontinental Exchange. The company now joins Tesla and Amazon among 56 companies objecting to the proposed listings.
Under the SEC's innovation exemption, a venue must notify a company before offering a version of its shares tokenized by an unaffiliated third party. If the company objects in writing within 30 days, the venue can't make that stock available for trading. The objection applies only to that venue.
The objection stands out because tokenized SpaceX shares already trade elsewhere. Tokenized versions of its shares already trade on platforms outside the US, where they have attracted significant trading activity since the company's June public offering.
Underlying SPCX shares rebound, lock-up debate builds
SPCXB tracks the listed stock, since it is a 1:1 tokenized representation of SpaceX stock. The Nasdaq-listed shares closed at $134.27 on Nov 6, up 8.62%, a gain of $10.65 on the day. Market commentary has since shifted to supply risk, with one headline describing SpaceX's December Lockup Is Nearly the Biggest Share Unlock in IPO History.
No SPCXB-specific catalyst has been confirmed for the latest price move, so the token's direction is best read alongside the underlying stock.
Tokenized on-chain activity keeps expanding
On-chain data shows its on-chain tokenized stock value has now reached $284.17 million, a 91.39% increase over the past 30 days, with 531,545 holders; in the tokenized equity sector, only Circle's tokenized equity exceeds its scale.
