How to Participate in Voting with QKC Token

QKC is available in three formats: ERC-20, BEP-20, and native mainnet tokens. All are eligible to vote, but to participate, holders MUST have their tokens — whether ERC-20, BEP-20, or mainnet — in an ETH-compatible self-custodial wallet (e.g., MetaMask/Rabby/Rainbow/Trezor) before the snapshot.
Important Note:
- Exchange Users: Tokens held on CEX (centralized exchanges) cannot vote directly. Transfer them to a self-custodial wallet beforehand.
- Network Compatibility:
- ERC-20 and BEP-20 tokens require an ETH-compatible wallet (configured with the respective network in MetaMask).
- Mainnet tokens need the QuarkChain mainnet configured in your ETH-compatible wallet.
Exchange Support Overview:
- Mainnet QKC Only: Upbit, Bithumb
- Mainnet + ERC-20 QKC: Gate.io
- ERC-20 QKC Only: Binance, Bitget, KuCoin, MEXC, BitMart, etc.
Below is a step-by-step guide specifically for mainnet token holders, as an additional setup is required.
Summary of Moving Mainnet QKC from an CEX to a Self-Custodial Wallet
- Add the QKC network to MetaMask (or any other ETH-compatible self-custodial wallet).
- Transfer tokens from an exchange that supports mainnet QKC to your wallet.
(Note: Upbit and Bithumb do not support mainnet withdrawals. Please send your tokens to Gate.io first, then transfer them to MetaMask.) - Participate in the snapshot according to the snapshot guide.
— Snapshot Date: May 13, 2025 (UTC) - Cast your vote according to the voting guide.
— Voting Token Generation: May 13–15, 2025 (UTC)
— Voting Period: May 15–22, 2025 (UTC)
1. Add the QuarkChain Mainnet Network to MetaMask
- Tap the network icon in the upper-left corner to open the network list, then tap “Add a custom network” at the bottom.
2. On the network information input screen, enter the following RPC URL:
https://mainnet-s0-ethapi.quarkchain.io
3. Fill in the remaining network information:
- Chain ID: 100001
- Network Name: Select the auto-suggested “QuarkChain Mainnet Shard 0”
- Symbol: Enter “QKC” and tap “Save” to save the network
4. Tap the network icon in the upper-left corner again to confirm that “QuarkChain Mainnet Shard 0” has been added. Then, switch to this newly added QuarkChain network.
2. Transfer QKC from the Exchange to MetaMask
Please note that Upbit and Bithumb do not support mainnet token withdrawals to personal wallets. Therefore, first, withdraw to Gate.io, then send to MetaMask.
Caution: Withdrawing to the wrong address will result in the loss of tokens. We highly recommend performing a test withdrawal and verifying the withdrawn QKC token in your ETH wallet before withdrawing all QKC tokens for voting!
How to withdraw from Gate.io to MetaMask:
- Tap “Asset” at the bottom right → “Withdraw” → select “Onchain Withdrawal”
2. Select “QKC”, then enter the withdrawal address, select “QKC” as the network, and input the withdrawal amount → tap “Withdraw” → then “Confirm”
Note: You must add “00000000” (eight zeros) to the end of your ETH address (0x + 40 characters) to form your QKC mainnet address (0x + 48 characters). Appending eight zeros to the ETH address will transfer QKC to shard 0 in your ETH wallet.
3. The status will change from “Processing” → “Done & Blockchain Confirmed” → “Success” as the withdrawal is completed.
4. Check in MetaMask to confirm that the tokens have been withdrawn.
