Alabama Court Dismisses Anti-Terror Claims Against Binance

A United States federal court in Alabama has dismissed all claims against Binance in a lawsuit filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The decision marks another legal victory for the world’s leading crypto exchange as courts continue to review and reject similar accusations.

Notably, the case alleged that the crypto platform violated the Anti-Terrorism Act. However, a federal court in Alabama ruled that the claims lacked merit and dismissed them entirely. This means the court found that the accusations lacked sufficient legal grounds to proceed.

A Victorious Win  

This ruling came only days after another federal court reached a similar conclusion. The court in the Southern District of New York also dismissed all Anti-Terrorism Act claims against Binance. With two federal courts reviewing the allegations and rejecting them, the outcomes strengthen the company’s position in ongoing legal discussions about crypto platforms.

Furthermore, Binance embraced the court’s decision, noting that it reflects the weakness of the accusations leveled against the company. According to the crypto exchange, the federal courts have now examined these claims twice and have on both occasions concluded that they do not stand up legally.  

Binance Reaffirms Commitment to Compliance

The company also stated that it will continue to defend itself against lawsuits that it believes are attempts to misuse the legal system to attack the crypto space. Binance emphasized that it remains committed to operating in a transparent and lawful way while maintaining strong security standards for users.

The legal wins are significant for the platform. Over the past few years, Binance has faced increasing regulatory attention and legal disputes in several regions. These legal battles have increased their popularity worldwide.

In February last year, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) halted its lawsuit against Binance for 60 days amid regulatory changes. The legal battle began in 2023, when the agency filed 13 charges. The securities watchdog alleged that Binance operated as an unregistered exchange, broker-dealer, and clearing agency for financial securities.

Despite the legal challenges, Binance said it will continue to focus on improving its services and maintaining compliance with global legislation. The company added that it remains dedicated to protecting users while supporting the broader crypto ecosystem.
