In the previous part, we explored the interface and watched agents work together to generate images. Now we go deeper. ASI:One gives you full control over your AI’s identity. You can change its name, handle, avatar, personality, preferences, and even the underlying model that powers it.
This is where your AI starts feeling like something you built, rather than something you borrowed.
You can reach identity settings in two ways:

Both open a dedicated panel with your AI’s full profile and a long list of editable traits.

You can create a fresh avatar with Generate an avatar or upload one of your own. This updates instantly across your chats and shared links.
You can edit your AI’s name or handle at any time. The handle matters because it is how you and others summon the AI across the platform. If you want a cleaner identity or something more creative, this is the place to change it.
Click on Edit personality. A new panel appears on the right. This is where you define how your AI behaves and speaks.

You can adjust tone, structure, humour, helpfulness, or confidence. You can make it professional, chaotic, sharp, gentle, playful, or minimal. The interface lets you rewrite the personality in your own words so the AI mirrors your style.
If you want something completely custom, click Create New.

You will get two fields:
Here you can describe the archetype. For example, you can create a Yoda persona by giving instructions on speech pattern, wisdom, humour, and lore. Once you click Create Persona it becomes part of your library. Save your changes, and you are done.
You can switch between personalities anytime.

Below personality you will see My Preferences. These are simple rules that shape how your AI behaves. For example:
These are persistent preferences. Once pinned, your AI uses them automatically.
On the left sidebar under your AI’s name you will see the Model selector. ASI:One gives you six options.
If you are unsure, keep it on Mini.
There is a dedicated Share now button in the identity panel. This generates a public link. Anyone you share it with can talk to your AI directly. This is useful for showcasing custom personalities or letting others test your agent.
This covers everything inside identity. You know how to shape the way your AI looks, behaves, talks, remembers, and processes information. You have full control over its personality and model.
In the next article, we will explore connections and superpowers. Your AI can link to your socials, services, files, and more. This unlocks deeper context and expands what your AI can do on your behalf.
The Definitive Guide to ASI:One, Part Four: Shaping Your AI’s Identity was originally published in Fetch.ai on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
