What would happen to Bitcoin network if the Transatlantic Communication Cable was severed?

I'm learning about networks in school and I recently became curious about what would happen to the Bitcoin network if the "Internet" somehow collapsed, fully or partially.

For example, what would happen if the transatlantic communication cable (and all other submarining cables) were severed, essentially isolating the different networks that make up the internet? Since there would be no connection between Europe and the United States, how would these two parts of the Bitcoin network continue on if they are unable to communicate with each other? Would transactions within those separate isolated networks be merged together seamlessly once the network connection was restored? How would this network disconnect affect instances where someone in the US was trying to send/receive BTC to/from someone in Europe?

I realize scenarios like this are minimized by the existence of other ISP services like Starlink, but for the sake of the thought experiment I am curious what would happen if satellite internet services were not in the picture. Sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm still learning :)
