Here's today's snapshot:

  • Market cap: $912.71M
  • 24-hour trading volume: $9.32M
  • Circulating supply: 10.94B out of a 100 billion max supply

It is still far below its all-time high of $2.98, hit in February 2025. It touched a low of $0.07072 in July 2026. So the coin has been rebuilding slowly. This is the backdrop for the latest Pi news.

Why Is Pi News Trending Today?

A post from the Pi Core Team on X is driving today's coin news. It confirms that the Launchpad has finished handing out its second testnet token, SLICE.

You can now explore the post-launch view inside the Browser. It shows how liquidity pools actually work, through a new price-tracking tool.

Open the Launchpad app and you'll see your personal allocation. You'll also see the launch price and the effective price you paid. There's direct access to the SLICE liquidity pool too. A live chart tracks SLICE against Test-Pi, the network's other testnet asset.

What Is The SLICE Testnet Token, Exactly?

SLICE is Pi's second trial token, following the earlier IRRA test. Unlike IRRA, SLICE connects to a real, working app called Slice of Pi. That's a game built on the ecosystem.

Why does that matter? Because it lets it test something new. An engagement bonus tied to actual app usage, not a dummy product.

Participation ran from mid-June through Pi2Day on June 28, 2026. In that window, over 242,000 Pioneers committed a combined 15.92 million Test-Pi, as per latest announcement. That bought them a share of 10 million SLICE tokens.

A Fair-Access Hold rule scaled the required hold with commitment size. That was meant to stop large holders from crowding out smaller Pioneers.

SLICE will never move to Mainnet. It's a testing ground only. The goal is simple: let the Network gather real feedback before rolling ecosystem tokens out for good. This test data should also guide how future Launchpad projects get designed.

How Far Has The Network Come?

Away from token trials, the core blockchain keeps ticking along. The network has processed over 27.86 million blocks to date. Current throughput sits at roughly 1.2 transactions per second, according to PiScan.

On the exchange side, eight centralized exchanges together hold around 541.85 million PI. At today's price, that stake is worth close to $45,141,848.77. These are the venues where it already trades, including OKX and Bitget.

Is Binance Listing Next?

This is the question every Pioneer keeps asking. Back in February 2025, a Binance community vote favored listing Pi. Support came in at 86%.

That vote was advisory only. Binance never confirmed a listing afterward. It stayed quiet.

The topic resurfaced again this July. Community accounts pushed fresh campaigns online, urging Binance to act. As of now, there's still no official word from Binance on Pi Network. The listing remains speculation, not confirmed news.

Price Prediction: What Could Move The Market Next

Nobody can promise where the coin heads next. Price could rise if the token data leads to stronger Launchpad tokens. A Binance exchange listing, if it ever comes, could also lift trading volume sharply.

On the other hand, it remains far off its 2025 highs. Thin daily volume next to its market cap is a real risk. Broader crypto market swings could pull it lower too, regardless of network progress.

Treat any Pi network price prediction as one possible outcome, not a guarantee.

CoinGabbar Analysis: Pi news approach with SLICE reflects a broader shift happening in token launches: testing mechanics on real apps before Mainnet exposure. Analysts tracking the ecosystem note this reduces speculative risk that has hurt other launch platforms. The bigger swing factor for the coin remains exchange access. Until a major venue like Binance confirms a listing, price moves are likely to stay tied to community sentiment and Launchpad milestones rather than broad market adoption.
