Summary

  • MyDoge will suspend Doginals and DRC-20 support on September 17 because Maestro is ending its underlying Dogecoin API services permanently.
  • Affected assets remain recorded on-chain, but holders must migrate them because MyDoge will lose essential display and transfer capabilities entirely.
  • Regular DOGE services remain unaffected, while MyDoge recommends compatible wallets, test transactions, verified links, and careful credential protection during migration.

MyDoge will suspend Doginals and DRC-20 support on September 17, requiring holders to transfer affected assets before the cutoff. According to MyDoge’s X post, Maestro’s planned Dogecoin API shutdown prompted the decision. Maestro supplies infrastructure enabling MyDoge to display and transfer both asset types.

However, Maestro will close its Dogecoin API services on September 18, removing the technical foundation behind those features. MyDoge described the development as unexpected and inconvenient for users managing specialized assets.

Doginals are digital items inscribed directly on Dogecoin, following a structure similar to Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions. Meanwhile, DRC-20 is an experimental standard supporting fungible tokens across the Dogecoin blockchain.

Consequently, holders must migrate these assets before September 17 to preserve access through another supported wallet. MyDoge advised users to confirm their chosen destination supports each specific Doginal or DRC-20 asset.

Doginals Remain Onchain as Regular DOGE Services Stay Unaffected

Importantly, ending wallet support will not delete affected assets from Dogecoin or remove them from their addresses. Nevertheless, MyDoge will lose the infrastructure required to display or send them once the service arrangement ends.

Users missing the deadline may struggle to access or recover their holdings through the MyDoge interface. However, regular Dogecoin balances and transactions will remain unaffected by the removal of Doginals and DRC-20 support.

MyDoge emphasized that users do not need to transfer DOGE or other assets supported within the wallet. Standard Dogecoin deposits, payments, and transfers will remain available alongside planned platform features and updates.

Additionally, affected holders should send a small test transaction before transferring their complete balances into another wallet. This precaution confirms address accuracy, asset compatibility, and successful delivery without risking the entire holding.

MyDoge also warned against unsolicited messages, suspicious links, and accounts offering migration assistance. Users should never disclose seed phrases or private keys because legitimate representatives will not request those credentials.

Although MyDoge is reviewing restoration options, it has not confirmed another provider or announced a timetable. Therefore, affected users should treat September 17 as the final deadline and secure access through a verified compatible wallet.
