How difficult will it be to fork a crypto currency?

My client($50m+ NW) wants me to create a crypto named after his company. I want to know how difficult will it be to fork an existing cryptocurrency and just change certain things like block reward/total coin limit etc and how much will it cost to fork or clone one like bitcoin/monero/litecoin?
