CLASSIFIED | Holly Herndon

CLASSIFIED is a self-portraiture series exploring the classification “Holly Herndon” embedded in OpenAI’s CLIP. CLIP knows who I am, so I trained a custom neural network to visualize what CLIP believes me to be. This system and others were prompted with a variety of inputs; public domain art, shapes, and Perlin noise, and invited to produce a portrait of “Holly Herndon”. Far from automated, this was a conversation between me and an AI; I hope to know as much about it as it knows about me <3
