What can we do to create a marketplace as big as eBay, but for cryptocurrency instead of fiat?

<!-- SC_OFF --><div class="md"><p>Hey guys, if you're into crypto, then you're thinking about the future. Which is what my post is born from; I'm thinking about the future. I'm trying to sell stuff online in exchange for crypto instead of cash (because physical cash is not going to be king forever) and I'm having a hard time because most marketplaces absolutely forbid any transactions involving cryptocurrencies. So my question is, what is stopping us from making our own ebay-level scale marketplace with crypto? If I want to sell my things either online or locally and in-person in exchange for real digital money FOR NEARLY FREE, I should be allowed to do so. Would any of you here want us to work together to start a community project to create a dedicated website for buying and selling things for crypto which is (almost completely) free to use for both buyers and sellers?</p> <p>If this sounds like a cool idea, we should create a discord server or something and figure out the details. I know some websites exist already for crypto markets, but they aren't taking this issue seriously. Their policies are all absolutely <em>terrible</em> and the amount of people using them is therefore very low.</p> <p>Ideally, the market I envision should have the following qualities:</p> <p>1.) Anyone can use it anywhere in the world and be able to transact both online and if they choose to, locally and also anonymously.</p> <p>2.) The main method of payment is any cryptocurrencies, but if both sellers and buyers agree to it, another currency can be used instead.</p> <p>3.) For sellers, NO fees or charges until and unless you sell your item. Even posting should be free in order to help saturate the marketplace with products and bring in more users.</p> <p>4.) For buyers, a guarantee that if the item received is not as described, a service to arbitrate disputes, and therefore, probably an escrow system.</p> <p>5.) The escrow system should be nearly free to use.</p> <p>6.) A service that monitors the posts for each item on sale to ensure nothing is breaking laws in the jurisdiction that it's being sold in.</p> <p>7.) Lastly, there should be a democratic system for all members of the community to implement and maintain policies that make the site as great as it can be for everyone using it. This means that if there's some kind of problem with the site, it can be fixed by the people using it most.</p> <p>That's what I'm hoping to inspire here. I don't think that this should be so difficult and no site in existence is as good as what I'm trying to describe here. I am seriously considering launching a business to venture into this niche of the world's marketplaces.</p> <p>This may be <strong>downvoted to hell</strong> because I <em>know</em> many people are a bit critical here, but I wanted to throw this out there anyway because I am certain that this is something we need to make a reality and I really want help from the community if anyone with the skills would be willing to help.</p> <p>If you can help, please respond.
