Gabriel Gimenez

Gabriel has created his first collection for NIFTY using his iconic "FADO" character to pay tribute to Warhol and Basquiats infamous boxing poses, based on the iconic photo shoot used for poster images to promote their historic duo show in New York City in 1985. Gabriel Gimenez (aka GG) has been a pioneer of the Miami art scene for the last 8 yrs, recently winning an Emmy for a documentary he produced highlighting Miami's emerging artistic identity. His public art can be seen all over the city, he's collaborated with major brands such as Adidas and Air bnb, and his painting shows sell out, at prices up to $20k. Gabriel has experienced aspects of humanity that many of us haven't, landing in the US as an undocumented teenage immigrant whose family fled from Venezuela to escape persecution, he used art to literally fulfill the American dream for him and his family. He also now uses his platform to highlight immigration issues worldwide.
