This article was first published on The Bit Journal. Solana RWA activity is accelerating rapidly with the number of real-world asset (RWA) transfers exceeding more than doubled in the last month. The latest data indicates that the blockchain is emerging as a tool for more than just tokenized assets, with investors and institutions growing more interested in trading, settlement, and more financial applications.

RVA.xyz states that as of July 6, the 30-day transfer volume on Solana has grown to $8.68 billion, up 105.76% from the previous month. The overall value of assets distributed on the network also increased by 36.27% during the same timeframe to $3.48 billion, demonstrating the growing Solana RWA ecosystem.

This growth in Solana RWA transfers is driven by increasing trading on decentralized exchanges. The volume of spot trading of tokenized assets jumped from $2.69 billion in Q1 to $5.7 billion in Q2, a stark contrast from near-zero levels a year ago, Solana reported.

The figures indicate that tokenized assets are becoming more actively traded instead of remaining idle after issuance. The volume of these assets being utilized for settlement, collateral management, liquidity operations, and decentralized trading is increasing, highlighting a more advanced Solana RWA ecosystem.

Retail Participation Expands Through Tokenized Stocks

Backed’s launch of its xStocks platform for tokenized equities has been a key reason for the surge in Solana RWA activity in the middle of the year 2025.

These digital assets offer blockchain-based exposure to popular U.S.-based companies such as Tesla and Nvidia, allowing retail investors to trade familiar stocks in the crypto market. While tokenized Treasury funds are suited mainly for yield seeking or cash management solutions for institutional investors, tokenized equities attract traders of all sorts.

RWA.xyz data indicates that there are now 293,558 RWA holders on Solana, an increase of 7.83% over the past 30 days, across 2,119 monitored assets. The growth in the number of holders was slight compared to the number of transfers, but it indicates that there was an increase in activity, not just in terms of large wallets but also in the number of people using them.

The low fees of Solana also incentivize smaller, more frequent deals, making tokenized equities feasible for retail investors who may not be able to afford the same fee levels on more congested blockchain networks. Such cost-effectiveness is still fueling the expansion of the Solana RWA market.

Institutional Products Strengthen Solana RWA Market

Institutional Products Strengthen Solana RWA Market

Retail trading is just one of the growing RWA market on Solana. Financial products continue to offer a significant portion of the network’s asset value at institutional level.

BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, which accounts for around $615 million in tokenized assets on Solana, is among the biggest. Ondo’s USDY adds on a further $181 million and the investment products linked to Securitize represent almost $300 million in assets under management.

The solutions aim to introduce regulated investment models and tokenized cash-equivalent products on the network and to draw in institutional investors. Most, however, work within permissioned models that have know your customer (KYC) standards and rules of investor eligibility, which restricts the flow of assets compared to those sold to retail investors.

Solana Challenges Ethereum With Transaction Speed

Ethereum continues to be the leading blockchain for tokenized real-world assets despite recent waves of activity in the Solana RWA space. According to data from Token Terminal, Ethereum accounts for 57.8% of global assets under management in tokenized funds, valued at $35.6 billion.

Nonetheless, Solana is going for another competitive edge. The network is no longer only asset-oriented, but is prioritizing speed of transactions, low transaction fees, and efficient settlement to encourage active flow of tokenized assets.

This is also supported by its stablecoin-based ecosystem. As per RWA.xyz, Solana’s total market cap for stablecoins stands at $16.02 billion, while the 30-day transfer volume of stablecoins on Solana is $541.34 billion as of July 6. This liquidity fuels the Solana RWA ecosystem by enabling trading, settlement, and collateral management.

Solana Challenges Ethereum With Transaction Speed

The adoption of tokenized assets will be key to the growth of Solana RWA. Increased transfers might enhance the network’s functionality in transferring and settling assets or enabling token-based financial services.

Conclusion

Solana RWA is making more traction as retail and institutional participation increases, leading to greater transfer volumes and trading volume. Ethereum is the leading tokenization network in the market, but Solana’s fast development and increasing liquidity present a promising alternative for blockchain-based settlement, trading, and real-world asset adoption.
