Today in crypto, the SEC moved its crypto custody overhaul into White House review, while Bernstein called for Bitcoin to reclaim $125,000 by late 2026. Meanwhile, Revolut began rolling out its euro-backed EURR stablecoin to customers in three European markets.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has sent its planned overhaul of crypto custody rules to the White House for review, moving forward with changes that could clarify how investment advisers and funds can hold digital assets for clients.
The proposal reached the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) regulatory review arm on Aug. 25. It has not yet been made public, and OMB can request changes before returning it to the SEC, where commissioners would vote on whether to release it for public comment.
