When we launched Base, we set base.org as our onchain identity via ENS because that was the best domain we had. Recently, in recognition of how we’ve built Base, an anonymous stranger gifted us base.eth. They did this as a recognition of our commitment to decentralization and open source, two values which we will continue to uphold. We believe that onchain is the next online and that .eth better represents that ethos than .org. Therefore, from this moment forward, we are proud to rock base.eth as our primary onchain identity via ENS. online → onchain base.org -> base.eth This is a commemorative NFT and does not have any other utility, function, or intended value.
