XRP Reserve on Binance Just Crashed – What’s Going On?

Prominent CryptoQuant analyst Amr Taha highlighted a significant change in XRP exchange supply dynamics after reviewing fresh on-chain data from Binance. In a recent market update, he revealed that the total value of XRP reserves held on the exchange has dropped sharply in recent days.

According to Taha, Binance wallets now hold about $3.7 billion worth of XRP, marking the lowest reserve level recorded on the platform in roughly ten months.

This metric tracks the total dollar value of XRP stored in exchange wallets. Because the data is denominated in U.S. dollars, fluctuations in XRP’s market price can influence the final valuation of reserves. However, the latest decline largely reflects coins moving out of Binance rather than price movements alone.

XRP Reserves Drop to 10-Month Low

Recent exchange data shows that Binance XRP reserves stood near $3.9 billion on March 6 before declining further within a short period. Only a few days later, the reserve balance fell to about $3.7 billion, indicating that roughly $200 million worth of XRP left Binance wallets during that timeframe.

Exchange reserve indicators help analysts evaluate how much cryptocurrency remains available for immediate trading activity. When large volumes of tokens sit on exchanges, those assets can quickly enter the market through selling orders.

However, shrinking reserves typically indicate that investors are transferring tokens away from trading platforms. In many cases, these withdrawals involve movement into private wallets, custodial storage solutions, or other long-term holding arrangements.

Historical data from the chart reveals a very different trend during earlier stages of 2025. During both January and July, the value of XRP reserves stored on Binance climbed above $10 billion as traders transferred large amounts of tokens onto the exchange.

Those periods of rising exchange balances were followed by major price corrections across the XRP market. During those phases, XRP lost more than 60% of its market value and eventually dropped below the $1.20 level. Higher exchange reserves often indicate increasing selling readiness among traders because assets typically move to exchanges before entering active trading.

XRP Outflows From Binance Continue

Recent data now reflects a contrasting pattern as XRP balances on Binance continue declining instead of increasing. The chart also tracks cumulative exchange netflows, a metric that measures the long-term balance between deposits and withdrawals across Binance wallets. Current readings show a strongly negative cumulative flow, indicating that more XRP has exited the exchange than entered it during the measured period.

Persistent outflows like these often reflect sustained withdrawals from trading platforms as investors move assets into alternative custody environments. Additionally, declining exchange balances reduce the amount of XRP immediately available for trading activity on the platform. Reserve metrics remain widely used within on-chain analysis because they help estimate how supply conditions evolve across major exchanges.

At the moment, Binance XRP reserves remain near $3.7 billion, representing the lowest balance recorded on the exchange since April 2025, while analysts continue monitoring how exchange flows develop in the coming weeks.
