Hi guys, as you know I'm Venezuelan living here.
There is a NGO that keeps track of the minimum money to purchase food for a 5 members family (It is called CENDA-FVM), this mean the bare minimum amount of food to "live". I repeat basic just food (like rice, flour and beans). Nothing more.
Currently this value is around 360 USD monthly, so that is 72 USD per person monthy. That is like 2.4 USD daily, NOTHING! You will say, that is not that bad!
BUT, monthly minumum wage is around 16 USD. So you need FIVE (5) monthly minimum wages to barely eat, go walking to work, without rent, without personal care and so on!
Wage is in Bolivares, 130 Bs. monthly (exchange rate is a little bit over 8 Bs. per USD). Remember in the last 15 years, 14 zeroes have been shaved off from the currency. So there 13000000000000000
There is another measure they also make, that includes other things (like basic "full" living) like personal care, more and better food, transportation and cellphone and some basic services (electriciy is free). That is usually aroun 100% more than the basic one, so right now it should be around 700 USD per 5 members family (monthly).
Remember, monthly miniumum wage is 16 USD. Average wage is around 80-120 USD (that means, it's not enough.....)
All of this has to be done by NGO because the government doesn't like to publish there numbers (for obvious reason).
They haven't published yet the September 2022 inflation numbers (they didn't publish the inflation for months during 2018....)
Yeah, sometimes I get blame for being "cryptobro". What am I supposed to do? Keep stacking the powerful Bolivar haha.
