Financial technology firm Ripple has announced that Ripple Prime, its institutional prime brokerage platform, now supports Hyperliquid, a fast-growing decentralized derivatives protocol. The move allows institutional investors to access on-chain derivatives liquidity while managing their broader portfolios through a single platform.
As part of the integration, Ripple Prime clients can trade on Hyperliquid and, at the same time, cross-margin their DeFi positions with other asset classes already supported on the platform. These include digital assets, foreign exchange (FX), fixed income, OTC swaps, and cleared derivatives.
A Strategic Expansion Move
Via the partnership, institutional clients on Ripple Prime can manage risk more easily and utilize their capital more efficiently without juggling between multiple platforms. According to the update, the brokerage firm aims to make DeFi more accessible to professional investors.
Remarkably, by offering a unified brokerage system, institutions can interact with decentralized markets while maintaining the same level of structure they expect from traditional finance. With this integration, clients can now benefit from a single counterparty relationship, centralised risk management, and consolidated margin across their portfolio.
Michael Higgins, International CEO of Ripple Prime, explained that the company wants to stay ahead by combining DeFi with traditional prime brokerage services. According to him, adding direct support for platforms like Hyperliquid helps expand trading options, improve yield opportunities, and widen access to digital assets.
Higgins further emphasized that institutions are seeking more efficiency and development, adding that the integration is tailored to meet those demands. While this integration is remarkable, the addition of Hyperliquid reflects Ripple Prime’s strategy to support top liquidity venues in both centralized and decentralized markets.
Expanding Services Across Traditional and Digital Finance
Undoubtedly, demand for secure, scalable infrastructure will continue to grow as more institutions explore DeFi. The company plans to offer next-generation trading access while maintaining control and capital efficiency.
Founded in 2021, Ripple has become one of the biggest players in the financial technology space. The company has built a remarkable reputation as a provider of blockchain-based enterprise solutions across both traditional and digital finance. It offers services like global payments, custody, liquidity, and treasury management.
