What is Bitcoin Diamond?
Bitcoin Diamond (BCD) is a hard fork of the original Bitcoin blockchain. The fork occurred at block height 495866 and implemented changes including a new proof of work algorithm to deter attacks on the network and segregation of transaction signatures from transactions on the chain for additional capacity allowing a greater number of transactions per second on the network as a whole. BCD also has an increased total supply, with 210 million coins compared to Bitcoin's 21 million.
The purpose behind creating Bitcoin Diamond was to make cryptocurrency more accessible to everyday users by lowering transaction fees and making it easier for people to use. It does this by introducing features such as Lightning Network, SegWit, Atomic Swaps, and Cross-chain Transactions. Additionally, BCD has implemented several privacy features such as Confidential Transactions which hides amounts sent in each transaction.
Bitcoin Diamond also has its own wallet called “Diamond Wallet” which allows users to store their coins securely. This wallet supports both desktop and mobile devices so that users can access their funds wherever they are. In addition, there are many exchanges that support trading of BCD such as OKEx, Huobi Global, HitBTC, BitForex, and more.
Overall, Bitcoin Diamond is an innovative cryptocurrency that seeks to make digital currency more accessible and secure for everyone. With its low transaction fees and enhanced security features, it provides an attractive alternative for those looking to invest in or use cryptocurrencies.
