Key highlights:

  • Crypto.com's MCO Visa crypto cards are starting to ship to European users
  • The United Kingdom was the first European market for MCO Visa, but the cards are now shipping to 31 European countries
  • The MCO Visa cards allow users to effectively spend their cryptocurrency wherever Visa is accepted

Cryptocurrency holders can have a pretty tough time when trying to pay for everyday goods and services with crypto. Even though cryptocurrency adoption is on the rise, using cryptocurrency on a daily basis is not a viable option for most crypto fans.

However, crypto cards such as Crypto.com’s MCO Visa card make the process of spending your Bitcoin and other crypto much easier. Users can simply top up their MCO Visa with cryptocurrency through their Crypto.com account and use the card wherever Visa is accepted. There are 5 tiers of MCO Visa cards available, with each tier offering a better cashback bonus as well as extra perks.

Despite their awesome utility for crypto holders, the availability of crypto cards can be an issue, depending on where you live. Thankfully, Crypto.com is working on expanding the market for the MCO Visa cards and are now in the process of launching them in Europe.

Crypto.com’s MCO Visa cards have started shipping to European users

After an initial European launch in the United Kingdom, the MCO Visa cards are now shipping to users in 31 European countries (this includes all 27 members of the European Union). The card is now available to practically the entirety of Western and central Europe, although there’s still important markets like Russia, Turkey and the Ukraine that are not supported at the moment.

The company’s co-founder and CEO, Kris Marszalek, commented on the expansion of MCO Visa:

"Since we first shipped our MCO Visa card in 2018, we have been rapidly moving into new markets and growing our user base. Crypto.com has separated itself from the pack by focusing on building an end-to-end crypto ecosystem that features high levels of security."

There seems to be considerable demand for Crypto.com’s services in key European markets, as evidenced by the fact that the company’s mobile app is among the top 50 financial apps in the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Italy.

With the European Central Bank announcing a €750 billion debt-buying program to combat the economic damage caused by Covid-19, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more and more Europeans look to cryptocurrency as an alternative to the traditional financial system.

The MCO Visa crypto cards

If you’re interested in getting a MCO Visa card for yourself, you can make a reservation through the Crypto.com app. The app will notify you when your card is ready to ship.

You can choose between 5 different MCO Visa cards, ranging from the most basic tier (Midnight Blue) to the highly premium Obsidian Black:

  • Midnight Blue
  • Ruby Steel
  • Royal Indigo / Jade Green
  • Frosted Rose Gold / Icy White
  • Obsidian Black

Other than the Midnight Blue cards, all MCO Visa cards feature a high-end metal construction - while the cards’ aesthetics are certainly a welcome touch, crypto fans will be most interested about the perks.

First off, the MCO Visa card can be topped up with 32 different cryptocurrencies, making it suitable both for hardcore Bitcoin HODLers as well as altcoin investors.

When making purchases with the MCO Visa cards, users receive a cashback ranging from 1% to 5%, depending on which card they have. The cashback is instant and credited to the user’s Crypto.com account in the form of MCO tokens.

Users who opt for the more premium MCO Visa card tiers also get to benefit from useful perks such as subscriptions to Spotify, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Of course, these perks are just a bonus on top of the higher cashback percentage that’s offered by the top-tier cards.
