Morgan Stanley Adds to Its Bitcoin Position for a Fourth Straight Day

Morgan Stanley just extended its Bitcoin buying streak to a fourth straight day.

On-chain data from Arkham’s tracking of MSBT’s wallets shows Coinbase Prime routing fresh BTC into Morgan Stanley’s ETF custody addresses in four separate transfers this week.

Techgaged first flagged this fund back in March, when MSBT received its official NYSE Arca listing just ahead of its April launch.

The Purchases, Broken Down

As of the timing of the chart, the pattern shows a steady cadence rather than one large buy.

Four days ago, MSBT added 120.354 BTC, worth $9.5 million. Three days ago, it added 45.848 BTC, worth $3.55 million.

One day ago, it added 94.562 BTC, worth $7.7 million. Four hours ago, another 94.561 BTC landed, worth $7.54 million.

That’s roughly 355 BTC added across four sessions, worth close to $28.3 million combined.

Why Consistency Matters More Than Size

None of these purchases are large by institutional standards. What stands out is the discipline.

Morgan Stanley’s MSBT launched in April 2026 as the first spot Bitcoin ETF issued by a major US bank, charging a 0.14% fee, the lowest in the category at the time.

The fund has kept up buying streaks like this one before, including a three-day run back in August when it added Bitcoin during a price dip rather than waiting for a rally.

Where Bitcoin Stands This Week

$79,634.67. That’s where Bitcoin sits on September 5, 2026, up 2.6% for the week as of writing (12:00 UTC).

Tuesday and Wednesday were rangebound, stuck between $77,000 and $79,000 with no clear direction.

Thursday broke that pattern hard, a sharp spike toward $81,500 that caught momentum traders off guard. Friday gave some of it back, settling at $79.63K.

Techgaged tracked a very different backdrop for Bitcoin earlier this year, when the token cracked below $70,000 in early June as ETF outflows piled up across the sector.

MSBT’s steady accumulation this week is happening in a market that’s recovered well past that point.

What This Signals Going Forward

Morgan Stanley’s wealth management arm oversees $9.3 trillion in client assets across roughly 16,000 advisors, and MSBT gives those advisors an in-house product to recommend rather than sending clients to competing funds.

A four-day buying streak this size won’t move Bitcoin’s price on its own.

It does suggest steady advisor-driven demand is building behind the fund, the kind of quiet, recurring inflow that tends to compound over months rather than show up as a single headline number.
