ChainGuardians creators prepare to enter metaverse, get ready to launch the Cryptoverse platform

The metaverse sector of the blockchain and crypto industry is getting another strong contender with the launch of Cryptoverse, a virtual world created by the team behind ChainGuardians.

ChainGuardians is a role-playing game with play-to-earn features and characters represented by NFTs. It uses a governance token called CGG, which will also be leveraged on the Cryptoverse platform to provide a connection between the two ecosystems. In Cryptoverse, CGG tokens will be used for governance and will also be implemented as currency for purchasing and selling virtual land, as well as using the Cryptoverse marketplace and transportation system.

We might also the two products share some of their lore, as the setting of the ChainGuardians game is also called Cryptoverse.

One of the main selling points of Cryptoverse is its technical foundation. Unlike most other metaverse platforms, which tend to use rudimentary graphics and software, Cryptoverse is going for a more polished approach with an implementation of Unreal Engine 5. The engine, which is being developed by Epic Games, is currently in early access. The company’s engines are commonly used by Triple-A game developers, as well as film and television studios that work with 3D environments and characters.

The Cryptoverse world is divided into 8 large zones with unique aesthetics and features. They’re designed to act as hubs for different kinds of activities – there’s zones focused on entertainment, fashion, networking, nightlife, and so forth.

Players will be able to own land in the game, which will be represented through non-fungible tokens. The same approach will also be used to represent other in-game assets like avatars, buildings and vehicles.

A unique aspect of Cryptoverse will be the platform’s “Prana System”, which will essentially function as a karma system. Players who actively engage with the Cryptoverse and earn a good reputation will have a high Prana Score, which will let them access exclusive features and earn rewards in the platform’s marketplace. The Prana System will also be connected to LAND Clearing, a feature of Cryptoverse where players can band together in teams and make unsold plots of land suitable for habitation. Players who participate in land clearing will be able to buy land they helped clear at discounted rates.

Here’s how Cryptoverse co-founder Robbie Cochrane summed up the project:

“The Cryptoverse is an immersive 3D virtual world built in Unreal 5 which is underpinned by blockchain technology. Within the Cryptoverse, users will be empowered to create, own LAND, govern and monetize experiences using CGG, the token which also underpins the ChainGuardians and ChainBoost ecosystem.”
