Two Exchanges, Same Day: Upbit And Bithumb Add New Tokens

This crypto listing news update covers two separate exchange announcements from South Korea on August 4, 2026. Upbit, the country's largest exchange, added the Defi App (HOME) token to its KRW and USDT markets.

Bithumb, the second-largest exchange, opened its KRW market to MetaDAO (META2) and Global Dollar (USDG) on the same day. Both exchanges confirmed the moves through their own official notice pages.

While all three tokens went live on the same day, the two listings came from separate exchanges, separate notices, and separate trading conditions. This Crypto Listing News report breaks each one down on its own.

Upbit's Listing: DeFi App (HOME)

Upbit posted a notice titled "Notice of New Trading Support on DeFi App (HOME) (KRW, USDT Markets)," confirming the details below.

Standard rules apply: buy orders are restricted for about five minutes after trading opens, and sell orders 10% or more below the previous close face temporary limits.

HOME is DeFi App's governance and utility token, and this marks its first direct one on Upbit.

Bithumb's Listing: META2 And USDG

Bithumb's notice covers both tokens together, each with its own market details.

MetaDAO uses futarchy, where prediction markets rather than token votes guide decisions; META2 was already traded on Upbit before this addition.

USDG is a USD-pegged stablecoin from Paxos Digital Singapore, backed 1:1 by dollar deposits and short-duration government securities, with its 1,429 won reference price tracking the dollar-to-won rate.

HOME and META2 both posted double-digit gains around the news, up 40% and 28.44% over 24 hours, respectively, a common pattern when Korean exchanges add lower-supply governance tokens to KRW markets.

USDG, as a dollar-pegged stablecoin, stayed flat near its $1.00 peg, which is the expected behavior for a reserve-backed asset regardless of listing activity.

All figures above reflect CoinMarketCap data recorded on August 4, 2026, around the time of each exchange notice.

Why This Crypto Listing News Matters

Two exchanges, two separate review processes, and three tokens reaching Korean won markets on the same day is a notable cluster of activity. Upbit's HOME addition brings a DeFi governance token onto a new network path through Base.

Bithumb's dual listing pairs a DAO governance token built on prediction markets with a regulated dollar stablecoin, giving users two very different types of assets in one release.

What To Watch Next

For HOME, confirm the base network address before depositing to Upbit, since funds sent on unsupported networks cannot be recovered. For META2 and USDG on Bithumb, recheck the network setting before sending funds, especially given the mid-notice change from Ethereum to Solana for USDG.

Both exchanges may still adjust timing further if liquidity conditions require it, so the official notice pages remain the final word.

Expert Opinion

Multiple listings by South Korea's two largest exchanges on the same day highlight continued competition for attracting trading volume. However, short-term price spikes following exchange do not necessarily reflect long-term project adoption.

Conclusion

This crypto listing news update confirms two distinct South Korean exchange actions on August 4, 2026: Upbit's HOME listing on KRW and USDT through Base and Bithumb's META2 and USDG listings on KRW through Solana.

Each came with its own timing, network, and trading conditions, so treat each exchange's notice as the source of truth.
