Hey can anyone help? I'm confused about moons.

![]() | I'm a little confused, I could do with some explanation if it all possible. Maybe I'm missing something. I understand this is an ETH sub. I've been into developing for crypto and crypto in general for a very long time, When r/CryptoCurrency sub spoke about having its own governance token for tipping I was actually really excited. Thought it was a really cool idea. Be fun. Ill happily stay in the sub and talk about crypto but moving a TIPPING token, a Governance token from testnet might just been the worst move I've ever seen. and feels kind of odd at that too? (https://rinkeby.etherscan.io/token/0xdf82c9014f127243ce1305dfe54151647d74b27a) THE VAST majority is not held by the users of this sub. While there are a good percentage. I cant say I've ever seen anyone with that much. 1) How is bridging moons from rinkeby to xdai going to effect the validity of supply on mainnet? 2) How where these moons on rinekby generated in sight of community distribution? or whether they were just minted into mods accounts for them to use at whim? 3) What way is the crypto used here decentralized? or community focused? 4) If it is going to be used as a community tipping currency is it safe store of value or just invented to be dumped? I thought they where just designed to be used as a governance token and passed around. But that appears to not be the case. Thought it would be really cool to have 'free coins and tip people'. But this is not the case if they are only sending out 2% of supply. To which they have successfully created a blind army on a sub of people who will attack any project that has genuine fans? This sub quite literally has yards and yards of post of people attacking other coins, calling them scams, yet we seem to be ignoring and not asking what's going on right in front of us. Also where did the supply even come from? Also is there any whitepaper now its on mainnet? Or is it even on a mainnet? Nothing I've found suggest it is, everything points to xdai, bridged from rinkeby. Why is the supply different from the transfer amount? (https://blockscout.com/xdai/mainnet/token/0x1e16aa4Df73d29C029d94CeDa3e3114EC191E25A/token-transfers) Can anyone answer this? Another thing if the supply is on xDAI? Why do we need eth for transfer fees? The contact isn't on eth? why would we need gas? [link] [comments] |
