In a couple more halvings when the block reward subsidy is nearly gone, during bear markets (lowest transactional volume) Bitcoin could become insecure due to lack of hashrate incentivized to secure the network. This is because BTC wasn’t allowed to scale at base layer as satoshi originally intended
