TIL the mascot of Dogecoin is named Kabosu and was homeless until being adopted to a kindergarten teacher. She is now 15 years old.

Kabosu was born on November 2, 2005, in a puppy mill which was shut down. She was sent to an animal shelter, and in 2008 she was adopted by a Japanese kindergarten teacher who named her after a citrus fruit because her face was round like the fruit.

Kabosu and is now the face of a $33B market cap cryptocurrency, she's been featured on a NASCAR race car, has been referenced in many video games including Zelda, and was even in Weird Al Yankovic's music video.
