How Dangerous is it to run Geth (Go-Ethereum) as a Validator with the Upcoming Merge?

A little while ago there was a big community push to have everyone diversify their PoS clients such as Prism, Teku so that not one single client had a super majority. That was successful!
Nowadays though, Geth (an execution client) has a super majority of 80%!!! https://clientdiversity.org Obviously if there is a slashing event affecting 80% of the network then we have failed.
What are the plans if there are slashing events affecting any client running the latest versions correctly?
How bad is it to continue to run Geth?
