How Dangerous is it to run Geth (Go-Ethereum) as a Validator with the Upcoming Merge?

A little while ago there was a big community push to have everyone diversify their PoS clients such as Prism, Teku so that not one single client had a super majority. That was successful!

Nowadays though, Geth (an execution client) has a super majority of 80%!!! https://clientdiversity.org Obviously if there is a slashing event affecting 80% of the network then we have failed.

• What are the plans if there are slashing events affecting any client running the latest versions correctly?

• How bad is it to continue to run Geth?
