Summary

  • Zondacrypto faces mounting uncertainty as founder Sylwester Suszek and successor Przemyslaw Kral reportedly vanished, leaving customers seeking access to funds.
  • Suszek disappeared in 2022 amid kidnapping claims, while his associate later faced kidnapping and money laundering charges in Poland.
  • Withdrawal delays, an offline website, collapsing ZND value, and disputed Bitcoin reserves have intensified concerns surrounding Zondacrypto and customer assets.

Zondacrypto is facing a deepening crisis as two successive executives have reportedly vanished while customers remain unable to access their funds. According to a New York Times report, founder Sylwester Suszek disappeared in 2022, while his successor, Przemyslaw Kral, later vanished.

Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency exchange’s website went offline in April, creating further uncertainty for customers seeking access to their assets. Its proprietary ZND token has also lost about 99.9% of its value, reflecting the severe collapse surrounding the platform.

Suszek founded the exchange under the BitBay name in 2014 and built a major presence across Central and Eastern Europe. The Polish entrepreneur also became known for an expensive lifestyle that included luxury vehicles such as Porsches and a Ferrari.

However, regulatory pressure eventually prompted BitBay to shift its registration to Estonia. During that period, Suszek reportedly became increasingly concerned about threats connected to his business relationships. An unidentified attacker reportedly smashed his Ferrari windshield with an axe, further increasing concerns about his personal security.

Suszek Disappearance Opens a Troubling Chapter for the Exchange

Suszek disappeared in March 2022, with his last known location reported at a fuel depot in Czeladz, Poland. He had reportedly travelled there to meet business associate Marian Wszolek before contact with him stopped.

Messages attributed to Suszek later described an alleged kidnapping and demands for Bitcoin to secure his release. Moreover, the messages claimed his captors threatened physical violence while demanding payment connected to an outstanding debt.

Suszek has not been publicly located since his disappearance. Wszolek later faced kidnapping and money laundering charges but also reportedly vanished.

Kral subsequently assumed control of the business and helped transform BitBay into the Zondacrypto brand. Additionally, the exchange increased its public profile through expensive sponsorship agreements involving major European sports organizations.

Zondacrypto secured exposure through football partnerships and sponsorship involving the Polish Olympic Committee. However, questions surrounding its underlying operations grew despite its highly visible marketing campaigns.

Reports indicated that its registered Estonian headquarters operated from a small office showing little evidence of substantial activity. Estonian regulators also increased scrutiny as authorities tightened cryptocurrency industry oversight.

Withdrawal Problems Deepen Before Second Executive Disappears

By late 2025, customers began reporting significant delays when attempting to withdraw their money from Zondacrypto. Kral initially attributed those withdrawal difficulties to technical problems affecting the exchange.

Significantly, he later claimed Zondacrypto controlled 4,500 Bitcoin worth roughly $330 million at the reported valuation. However, Kral claimed missing founder Suszek remained the only person capable of unlocking those Bitcoin reserves.

That explanation raised further questions because Suszek had already been missing for several years. Subsequently, Kral also reportedly disappeared, leaving another major leadership position vacant.

Zondacrypto customers now face uncertainty over funds held through the troubled cryptocurrency platform. Its offline website and devastated ZND token have added further complications for users seeking answers.

Conclusion

Two unexplained executive disappearances have added another layer to Zondacrypto’s financial and operational collapse. Customers remain stranded as questions persist over withdrawals, claimed Bitcoin reserves, and the whereabouts of the exchange’s former leaders.
