MOD (2023) *minted Jan 2024: Modifying an old machine is a conversation with the past and the future, a poetry of possibilities. These 150 deeply personal synthetic (AI) works each represent a moment in the artist's life as he moved regularly between Germany and Los Angeles, between 1989 and 2000. There are 5 types: SKIZZE (Sketch), MODELL (model or maquette),ÜBERTREIBUNG (Exaggeration), BLAU (Blue), and FESTKÖRPERELEKTRONIK (Solid State). These works were created using AI diffusion models trained on the artist's own photographic data, of old vinyl records and dubplates, turntables, reel-to-reel players, hard-drives, artist-painted wood and cardboard, ink drawings, and thousands of pieces of hardware, including lenses, lasers, fans, furniture, people, skis, los angeles, auto parts, etc... @kevinabosch
