  • Validator delinquency still happens on a smaller, individual scale, even during periods of overall network stability.

  • No slashing penalty currently punishes validators for going offline, which some analysts argue reduces the incentive to fix downtime quickly.

  • New failure modes could still emerge as usage patterns change, even if the old ones are addressed.

What Should Users Watch for Solana Reliability? 

The stronger signal here is the track record since early 2024. Full network-wide halts, the kind that stopped all block production, haven't recurred in over two years.

The main concern is structural, not code-related. Stake concentration behind a small number of infrastructure providers puts a lot of voting power in very few hands, and that's a separate problem from the bugs Solana has already patched.

The biggest unknown remains how the network performs under a genuinely new kind of stress, one the current fixes weren't built to catch. Readers tracking Solana network reliability should watch validator concentration data as closely as the uptime percentage itself.
