Key Insights
- AI news: Claude Fable 5 is reportedly capable of identifying software vulnerabilities at a level comparable to top human security researchers.
- Crypto leaders say the model could make it much easier to find software flaws, which may also speed up phishing scams and other security attacks.
- Anthropic has warned that the gap between when a vulnerability is disclosed and when it gets exploited is getting much smaller ,in some cases shrinking from days to just hours.
In the latest AI news, Anthropic announced the public release of Claude Fable 5 on June 10. The company described the model as having advanced cybersecurity capabilities and stronger performance in software engineering tasks.
The launch has drawn attention from crypto industry participants because of the model’s reported ability to identify software vulnerabilities faster than previous systems. Anthropic stated that the technology can help researchers detect security flaws more efficiently, although critics warn that malicious actors could attempt to use similar capabilities for attacks.
AI News: Anthropic Expands Access to Fable 5
Launched on June 10, Claude Fable 5 is the first Mythos-level model made available beyond Anthropic’s private Project Glasswing partners.
Anthropic emphasized that Fable 5 includes strict safety controls. In high-risk areas such as cybersecurity, the model may block certain requests and redirect users to an older Claude Opus model.
The company said Fable 5 excels in software engineering, knowledge work, and vision-related tasks. Anthropic added that the rollout was designed to balance advanced capabilities with safety safeguards. The model is priced above previous versions and is currently available through paid API access
Crypto Community on Alert
The AI news announcement quickly drew reactions from crypto industry figures. Omer Demirel, chief executive officer of Floors Finance, warned that Fable 5’s public release could mean “doomsday for the internet” if malicious actors misuse it.
Intuition chief executive officer Billy Luedtke warned of a difficult transition period. In a post on X, he said online interactions could become riskier before security tools catch up. However, he added that stronger defenses could eventually create a “golden age of security.”
Some crypto analysts urged users to review security practices after the launch. They recommended removing unnecessary token approvals, using audited decentralized finance applications, and spreading funds across multiple wallets.
Not everyone shared the same concerns.
Curve Finance co-founder Michael Egorov noted that Fable 5 appears stronger at identifying browser vulnerabilities than smart contract weaknesses.
He argued that the model is more likely to target key management systems and front-end vulnerabilities. Examples include compromised multisignature wallets and supply-chain attacks.
In other words, the risks may exist outside blockchain consensus code. Wider access to Anthropic’s tools has nevertheless prompted crypto businesses to review security practices.

AI Research Suggests Exploits Could Arrive Faster
Anthropic’s own security research highlighted the issue. A June 2026 report from its Frontier Red Team showed that advanced artificial intelligence can dramatically shorten exploitation timelines.
Software vendors often release patches on monthly schedules. That timeline traditionally gives defenders weeks to respond. Anthropic found that a single user with Fable 5-level capabilities could analyze patch differences and develop exploits within hours.
Researchers warned that the era of “N-days,” where attackers waited weeks or months after disclosure, may be ending. They stated that “N-hour is closer to the reality we now operate in.”
The finding carries implications for crypto markets. Vulnerabilities in wallets, bridges, and exchanges remain attractive targets for attackers.
If artificial intelligence accelerates exploit development, even minor software fixes could expose systems to faster attacks. Industry watchdogs said this AI news development increases the importance of rapid patch management and continuous security audits.
