The famous video game franchise Fortnite has just integrated a replica of a Bitcoin mining farm in its latest update. This provocative reference has propelled the memecoin “Dill Bits”, inspired by the game, to over 200%. A crypto nod that resonates beyond the virtual.

A hidden Bitcoin mining farm in Fortnite
Do you know Fortnite? It’s that ultra-popular game where 100 players fight on an island until only one remains.
On April 1, 2025, the developers of Epic Games added something special in the latest update: a real reproduction of a Bitcoin mining farm!
This hidden area, named “Dill Bits Server Mine”, is located in the Oninoshima cave on the new map. Players exploring it discover a characteristic alignment of servers bathed in a green light, with a logo parodying that of Bitcoin.
This virtual installation is not just a simple decor element. In the game, players can destroy these servers to collect “Dill Bits”, a virtual currency usable in Fortnite.
Ironically, Fortnite rewards you for attacking Bitcoin infrastructure – a mocking nod from the developers.
Several content creators on YouTube have already mapped all the locations where these mining farms appear, providing guides to maximize the harvest of this parody crypto.
The official description of this in-game currency does not hide its satirical nature, presenting it as an “awkward and confusing crypto that you didn’t know you wanted.” A direct reference to the criticisms often directed at the crypto market and its perceived complexity.
A significant impact on a real memecoin
What makes this initiative particularly remarkable is its impact on the crypto market.
Starting in February 2025, when Fortnite introduced “Dill Bits” as a fictional currency usable in virtual black markets, an anonymous developer immediately created a real token bearing the same name on the Solana blockchain.
On April 4, when players discovered the hidden mining farm, the price of this real “Dill Bits” token surged by 200% to reach $0.0005! And that wasn’t even its biggest jump: in February, at launch, its value had exploded by 4,500%!
Even more striking: in March, a promotional video from Fortnite mentioning a “Rugpull” (a term referring to a scam where crypto creators vanish with investor money) caused the price to rise by 4,000%.
On Reddit forums, communities of players and crypto investors are abuzz discussing this phenomenon. Some members of the community see it as a harsh critique of the crypto market, while other users take advantage of these speculative movements to attempt to make quick gains.
In summary, by playing with crypto codes, Fortnite is causing real market movements while maintaining an ironic distance. Observers remain divided: for some, it is a sabotage of the image of Bitcoin mining, while for others, it’s proof of its growing cultural influence beyond finance.
