5TARS.io Migrates to Concordium Blockchain, Aiming to Redefine Sports Fandom in Web3

Decentralized sports fantasy platform 5TARS.io is set to migrate its platform to Concordium Layer 1 blockchain as it seeks to scale its Web3 sports gaming catalogue and boost adoption rates on its platform. 

On Thursday, 5TARS.io, a Web3 sports gaming platform offering fantasy games, collections and prediction markets, announced its move from the SKALE EVEM chain to Concordium Layer 1 blockchain, which is designed for security, privacy, and scalability. The announcement confirmed that the migration of the 5TARS.io platform will take place in the coming weeks, with the completion date set for late March 2025. 

The migration will see popular 5TARS.io titles such as the 5TARS Football game ported to Concordium and new releases such as the cricket game for India, planned to release later this year also ported to the new blockchain. All future releases, NFTs and collections will also be hosted on the Layer 1 chain.

The popular 5TARS Football game, which includes prediction matches, marketplace for collection cards, Arenas, superpicks and other mini-games, will also be ported to Concordium. This is expected to bring a huge number of users to the Layer 1 chain, with the popular game boasting over 250,000 registered users and 20,000 monthly active users. Notwithstanding, more than 1,720,000 arenas have been joined by 5TARS Football players, who have also traded 45,000 NFTs.

The popularity extends to social media platforms, with 5TARS.io’s community exceeding 200,000 across X, Telegram, and Discord. The 5TARS Football game saw peak activity during Euro 2024, attracting 45,000 active players.

A New Scalable Future For 5TARS.io Fandom

Once the migration is complete, 5TARS.io players will enjoy several benefits in addition to the scalability that Concordium offers. The sports gaming platform will be enhanced with powerful features such as age verification and geo-fencing, allowing players from different regions to compete. The team also announced the launch of new games to the blockchain, including a cricket game for India, scheduled for Q3, as well as the existing Starzplay MENA cricket game, which debuted on Concordium last month.

According to Burguillos, Concordium offered the best option for 5TARS.io due to its key features in gaming, gambling and online betting. First, Concordium’s infrastructure is optimized for high throughput and performance. Additionally, the blockchain supports privacy-focused identity verification and geo-fencing enabled via zero knowledge proofs, which are critical for the gaming, gambling and online betting industries for compliance and geographical expansion.
