Reactive Network Integrates Hyperlane for Cross-Chain Messaging Paid Entirely in $REACT

In a significant move toward enhancing cross-chain interoperability, Reactive Network has integrated Hyperlane, enabling full lifecycle transaction processing across blockchains using only its native token, $REACT.

The integration allows developers building on Reactive Network to send messages and execute cross-chain transactions without needing native gas tokens from destination chains. All associated fees—including relaying and execution—are now payable solely in $REACT, streamlining operations and potentially reducing friction in multi-chain application development.

Hyperlane, a modular interoperability protocol, facilitates generalized message passing between blockchains. Its integration into Reactive Network means that developers can now build decentralized applications that respond to events on one chain and trigger actions on another, all without manual gas management.

According to Reactive’s development team, the cross-chain transaction lifecycle includes subscribing to events on an origin chain, reacting to those events within Reactive’s parallelized execution environment, and initiating a callback to a destination chain. With Hyperlane handling message delivery, this full process now operates without the need for intermediary tokens or bridging fees in non-native currencies.

A key milestone was the first full transaction processed through Hyperlane and paid entirely in $REACT, now viewable on the Hyperlane explorer.

Implications for Developers and Token Holders

For developers, the integration means simplified architecture: they no longer need to manage balances of gas tokens like ETH or AVAX across multiple chains. Instead, holding $REACT is sufficient for deploying, monitoring, and executing cross-chain logic.

From a broader ecosystem perspective, the update could have implications for $REACT’s tokenomics. Since all cross-chain messaging is now paid in the native token, the network may see a corresponding increase in its organic token usage, particularly as more developers adopt the system for real-world applications.

Background on Reactive Network

Reactive Network is an EVM-compatible platform focused on Reactive Smart Contracts—a new paradigm where contracts are triggered by external event logs rather than user-submitted transactions. This approach enables automated, event-driven dApps that interact across blockchain boundaries. The architecture is built on a specialized execution environment known as ReactVM and features a relayer network to facilitate event listening and cross-chain callbacks.

The Hyperlane integration marks another step in the project’s ongoing expansion of its interoperability framework, with additional destination and origin chain support expected in future updates.
