PepeX vs PI Coin: the better bet for 2025

The cryptocurrency market showed strong momentum on Wednesday, supported by broad-based gains across major tokens.

Bitcoin crossed $94,000 for the first time since March 6.

Momentum also spread to smaller segments, with meme coins surging over 15% and sectors like AI and real-world assets posting notable increases.

At the time of writing, the market has trimmed some of its earlier gains.

The market shift appears linked to improving geopolitical sentiment.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the trajectory of the US-China tariff conflict as “unsustainable” and suggested a de-escalation may be underway.

President Donald Trump also signaled intentions to reach a deal with China, calling the current 145% tariff “excessively high” and indicating it is unlikely to remain in place.

In this market rebound, two coins are seeing contrasting fortunes.

Pi Coin continues to struggle, while PepeX continues to see growing interest.

Pi Coin struggles continue

Pi Coin’s performance has been weighed down by two main factors: the absence of listings on tier-1 exchanges and ongoing token unlocks.

Over the next year, the network is set to release 1.6 billion tokens—valued at around $1.06 billion—into circulation, which is expected to exert downward pressure on the price in the absence of sufficient demand.

Since its mainnet launch, Pi Network has yet to secure a listing on any major centralized exchange.

Its current trading activity is limited to platforms such as Gate, Bitget, OKX, LBank, and MEXC.

While these are notable players in the crypto space, they are not typically classified as tier-1 exchanges.

A listing on a major exchange could significantly impact Pi Coin’s price. Binance, the largest exchange by volume, would provide access to over 200 million users worldwide.

A prior poll indicated strong support among Binance users for listing Pi Coin ahead of its mainnet launch.

New listings on Binance have often led to price spikes, as seen with DeepBook following its addition to Binance Futures.

Upbit, which holds significant influence in South Korea, also has the potential to move the price.

Orca recently jumped 170% in a day after its Upbit listing. Coinbase is another key exchange, offering broad exposure to the US market.

Until Pi Coin secures listings on these top-tier platforms, its price may remain limited in potential.

PepeX is stealing the spotlight

PepeX is emerging as a contender in the meme coin launchpad space, offering a more structured and security-focused alternative to existing platforms.

In contrast to platforms like Pump.fun, which have come under criticism for enabling vulnerable and poorly designed tokens, PepeX aims to enhance oversight and project quality through a more disciplined approach.

Central to its offering is the Moonshot Engine, an AI-driven tool that streamlines token creation and addresses common inefficiencies in meme coin launches.

The platform also deploys AI-powered promotional bots to increase visibility on social media—an important factor in a market heavily influenced by momentum and exposure.

To discourage opportunistic behavior, PepeX imposes a 5% cap on token holdings for creators and requires a $500 launch fee.

These controls are designed to promote greater accountability and reduce the prevalence of low-quality or exploitative projects.

Through these measures, PepeX is positioning itself as a credible and more reliable launchpad option in a sector often criticized for lacking investor safeguards.

PepeX’s presale is gathering momentum, with over $1.4 million raised as investor demand builds for a more reliable, structured alternative to the chaotic and often exploit-prone meme coin launchpads dominating the market.
