Welcome! We're excited to share some developments and activities this past month that highlights Pirate Chain's commitment to privacy and community engagement. From discussions on privacy to upcoming events, we're here to promote the importance of digital privacy.

Monthly Update Meeting Notes

In the Monthly Update Meeting on April 14, Dajohns highlighted X spaces where Pirate Chain was a guest talking about privacy. Dajohns joined Crypto Rich on The Coin Republic’s Crypto Pulse Live X space. Catch the Coin Republic recording at TCR News. Dajohns also joined the Crypto Content Company talking about Pillars of Privacy. Dajohns also preaches about Pirate Chain’s commitment to privacy. Pirate Chain will also be represented at PorcFest in June. Pirate Chain was also added to the Swapzone.io exchange aggregator. Pirate Chain (ARRR) on iOS on Edge App is working again! Orchard testing is still in the beginning stages — please help test if you can!

Pirates at PorcFest - June 16-22 in New Hampshire

Pirate Chain will be represented at PorcFest, June 16-22, 2025 for the Free State Project’s 22nd Annual Porcupine Freedom Festival in Lancaster, New Hampshire. Pirate Chain will be hosting a large tent at PorcFest along with Anarchapulco, Edge App, and Destination Freedom. 

Building Relationships: Zcash x Pirate Chain - ARRR!!!

In this X space, Pirate Chain collaborated with the Zcash ZecHub to have a conversation about privacy, stable coins, exchanges and Pirate Chain’s 100% shielded transactions.

Pirate Chain talking about Pillars of Privacy

Pillars of Privacy was not a space for billionaires giving lip service about privacy. In this X space with the Crypto Content Company, Pirate Chain talks about how you can use ARRR to transact privately. The Web2 world was averse to privacy, with tech giants making money off of your personal data. When a service is free, you are not the customer — you are the product. Transparent blockchains are by nature, transparent. Taking our digital privacy seriously was discussed. With Pirate Chain you can share only the data that you want to, with who you want to, using a View key. Privacy should be normal. Let’s make privacy great again!

Privacy in the News - Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin: ‘Privacy is freedom’

Cointelegraph reported in an article that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin talks about privacy and states that “privacy is freedom.” But how far does he actually go in talking about freedom and privacy?

The Cointelegraph article mentioned that Buterin’s post followed his privacy roadmap for Ethereum. In Buterin’s blog post titled, “Why I support privacy,” he mentions that the cryptocurrency space more recently undervalued privacy since “before ZK-SNARKs, we had no way to offer privacy in a decentralized way, and so we downplayed it, instead focusing exclusively on other guarantees that we could provide at the time.”

Although he talks about ZK-SNARKs, the privacy roadmap mentions adopting privacy-enhancing systems such as Railgun or Privacy Pools by existing wallets. So is Vitalik aware of stronger privacy methods such as ZK-SNARK coins like Pirate Chain where the transactions are 100% shielded by default, where the sender, receiver, and transaction amounts are private and shielded?
