Telegram has slowly become one of the biggest players in the crypto industry this year. Toncoin’s market cap has grown to over $18 billion as it passed the likes of Cardano (ADA), Tron (TRX), Avalanche (AVAX), and Shiba Inu (SHIB).

Telegram has also disrupted the play-to-earn industry that was once dominated by the likes of Axie Infinity (AXS), Decentraland (MANA), and The Sandbox (SAND). Today, its tap-to-earn games like Hamster Kombat, TapSwap, and Notcoin and its play-to-earn platforms like Pexels and Catizen have become juggernauts with millions of users.

A common question among Hamster Kombat and TapSwap users is when their TAPS and HMSTR tokens be listed by key exchanges.

How Hamster Kombat and TapSwap work

The tap-to-earn industry is not new as Pi Network is widely seen as the first player in the industry. Pi Network users mint new Pi Coins by downloading an application and tapping a button. These users are known as pioneers.

Telegram’s tap-to-earn networks use a slightly different approach. While Pi users require an invitation and an app download, these platforms work on Telegram, an app that has over 900 million users.

After following the two platforms, users earn tokens by doing two key things: tapping a button and being engaged in the ecosystem. By engagement, one can gain tokens by subscribing to their YouTube pages, following their other social media platforms, inviting friends, and logging in their platforms each day.

These simple activities have made their social media pages highly popular. As I have written before, Hamster Kombat’s YouTube page has broken a record as it added over 34 million subscribers in two months.

In contrast, Apple has accumulated over 19 million subscribers since 2005. Its videos have been viewed 1.1 billion in this period. Hamster’s videos have been viewed over 800 million times.

TapSwap’s YouTube channel has over 4.6 million subscribers and its videos viewed over 197 million times. The two have millions of followers in Telegram and X.

After collecting these coins, users hope to make a fortune when they are listed in exchanges like Binance and OKX. Most of these platforms have selected the TON Blockchain, which is known for high speed and low transaction costs.

When will the HMSTR and TAPS token launches happen?

The next big thing in their growth paths will be their token launches. It is still unclear when the listings will happen but they have promised that it would happen soon.

In a statement in June, TapSwap developers noted that the shares-to-token event would happen sometime in the third quarter. With July ending, it leaves the next viable period to be in August or September.

In another statement this week, the creators noted that postponing the airdrop will be in the best interest for the community members. Besides, cryptocurrencies are not doing well, with most altcoins being in a bear market.

Hamster Kombat has also said that it will also soon launch its airdrop but it has not shared the exact date for the event. In a recent statement, the developer;s CEO noted that the token would be listed in key platforms like Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, and KuCoin. He did not share the exact day of the listing.

As such, without the listing date and tokenomics, it is relatively difficult to predict the HMSTR and TAPS token prices after launch.

Nonetheless, using some online platforms can help us forecast this. For example, using Aevo’s platform, we see that the HMSTR perpetual price was trading at $0.22 on Friday, up from the all-time low of $0.1520.

The risk of using these perpetual futures to predict the future price is that the volume is very limited. The 24-hour volum was just $3,894. AEVO has not listed TAPS perpetual futures in its platform.

Risks for Hamster Kombat and TapSwap

There are three main risks to be aware about when using Hamster Kombat and TapSwap. First, there is a risk that the token listings will take longer to happen since these companies are making tons of money in YouTube.

It is unclear how much the two companies have made but it must be a lot. YouTube pays over $10 per 1,000 views. Even if we placed the figure at just $5, we can estimate that Hamster with its 806 million views has made over $4 million in less than two months. As such, they might want to delay the listing for longer.

Second, there is a risk that the tokens will drop as we saw with Notcoin and Pixelverse (PIXFI). Notcoin’s NOT token has plunged by 52% from its highest point on record while Pixelverse (PIXFI) has dropped by over 62% from its highest level last week.

Finally, there is a risk that the networks will become almost worthless as we saw with other play-to-earn networks like Decentraland and Sandbox.
