What to Know
- XRP whale inflows to Binance reached 1.451 billion tokens, marking their highest reported total in four months across the exchange.
- Mid-August deposits, including a roughly 270 million XRP spike, lifted the rolling inflow figure from its early-August trough on Binance.
- Rising exchange deposits increase potential selling pressure, although whales may use Binance for trading, collateral, rebalancing, or volatility preparation purposes.
XRP whale inflows to Binance reached approximately 1.451 billion tokens over 30 days, marking their highest level in four months. According to CryptoQuant analyst Arab Chain, the increase reflects greater activity among major XRP holders, with several large deposits supporting the broader recovery.
Whale inflows declined steadily between March and early August, but large transfers began increasing around the middle of August. The 30-day total exceeded 2.4 billion XRP during February and early March before dropping below 1.8 billion XRP later in March.
By May, combined inflows had fallen toward 700 million XRP, although Binance recorded a temporary recovery above 1.2 billion XRP during June. That improvement weakened throughout July, and consequently, the rolling total returned toward 600 million XRP in early August.
The latest reading represents an increase of roughly 850 million XRP from that lower region, equivalent to approximately 142%. However, current inflows remain below the February and March readings, meaning the four-month high does not represent the chart’s overall peak.
CryptoQuant’s chart separates individual whale deposits from their rolling 30-day total, revealing a notable change in large-holder behavior across both measurements. The black line tracks daily whale inflows using the right-hand scale, while the red line measures combined deposits across 30 days.

Mid-August Transfers Push Whale Inflows Higher
Daily whale inflows climbed beyond 240 million XRP around August 20, with the largest spike appearing close to 270 million XRP. Another major deposit followed several days later, reaching an estimated range between 130 million and 150 million XRP.
Additionally, several smaller transactions appeared throughout the recovery period, showing that one isolated transfer did not create the entire increase. These movements lifted the rolling total because every deposit remains within the calculation for 30 days, although recent daily activity has declined.

Nevertheless, earlier deposits still support the elevated 1.451 billion XRP reading, explaining why the total remains near four-month highs. Higher exchange inflows often raise selling concerns because deposited tokens become readily available for trading, while private-wallet holdings remain less accessible.
Still, the data does not prove that whales sold their XRP because exchange transfers can serve several purposes besides direct liquidation. Large holders may seek spot liquidity, derivatives exposure, collateral access, or portfolio rebalancing while also preparing for increased market volatility.
What the Four-Month High Means for XRP
Higher whale inflows increase the amount of XRP available for trading on Binance. Consequently, they can create greater short-term selling pressure. However, the transfers do not confirm that whales are liquidating their holdings. Large investors may deposit XRP without immediately placing sell orders.
Declining prices alongside rising deposits could signal whale distribution. Moreover, heavier spot-selling volume would strengthen concerns about additional market supply. Conversely, stable prices would suggest buyers are absorbing the additional exchange liquidity. Strong demand could limit the effect of whale deposits.
Binance reserves will also provide important confirmation. Rising reserves would indicate that more XRP remains available for potential trading or selling. Meanwhile, growing whale outflows could weaken the selling argument. Such withdrawals would show that large holders are moving XRP away from Binance.
Ultimately, the four-month high confirms greater Binance activity among XRP whales, but it does not establish their intentions. Price, volume, reserves, and outflows will determine whether the transfers create sustained market pressure.
