Blockchain network SKALE has announced a $2 million grant programme designed to support independent game developers and traditional studios integrating blockchain into their games.
The initiative is aimed at small teams, solo developers, and web2 creators who may be new to decentralised technology but are interested in exploring on-chain features such as digital ownership and in-game economies.
The funding will be distributed in $SKL tokens and will be accompanied by technical and strategic support. SKALE says the goal is to reduce entry barriers for developers who want to experiment with blockchain, without requiring them to have previous experience in the space.

What is SKALE?
SKALE is a blockchain network that operates alongside Ethereum and is designed to support high-performance applications.
It allows developers to build games and decentralised applications without charging users transaction fees. This zero-gas model is intended to make blockchain features more accessible to both developers and players.
The network reports processing over one billion transactions and supporting more than 230,000 daily active wallets linked to gaming applications. SKALE is also integrated with Unity’s publisher support programme, making it easier for developers using the Unity engine to add blockchain components to their games.

What is the Indie Game Accelerator?
SKALE has stated that blockchain knowledge is not a requirement to apply and that the programme is intended to support a wide range of teams at different stages of development. The Indie Game Accelerator is open to:
Independent developers working on new game ideas
Existing studios exploring blockchain integration for current or future titles
Developers from the traditional gaming industry with no prior blockchain experience
Grants will be provided in $SKL tokens, with the amount tailored to the scope and needs of each project. In addition to funding, successful applicants will receive:
Technical support from SKALE’s engineering team
Assistance with marketing and go-to-market planning
Access to infrastructure providers and web3 launch platforms
Guidance on fundraising and venture capital introductions
Developers can apply via SKALE’s dedicated grant portal at skale.space/skale-indie-games-accelerator. Applications are currently open, though no deadline has been specified. Projects will be assessed based on creativity, feasibility, and alignment with SKALE’s platform capabilities.
