10 Years, 10 Million Tokens, Our Thanks

We're celebrating IOTA’s 10th anniversary by distributing 10 million IOTA tokens among our community through airdrops, staking rewards, raffles, and community engagement.

Just a handful of blockchain projects have lived to celebrate their 10th anniversary. In October, IOTA joins this exclusive circle. 

Since its first announcement on Bitcointalk in October 2015, IOTA has pioneered a distributed ledger architecture designed for scalability, decentralization, and real-world utility.

In just 10 years, the protocol has gone from bold idea to real-world impact — powering digital identity frameworks, unlocking tokenized assets and DeFi, piloting supply chain transparency with global enterprises, shaping the future of digital trade and finance, and rallying a growing ecosystem of builders and partners.

From Africa to Europe, Asia and across the world, IOTA is being adopted as the L1 to provide real-world utility. And none of it would have been possible without you, the IOTA community.

To celebrate this journey, we’re distributing 10 million IOTA tokens  as a gift for our loyal community.

How We’re Giving Away 10 Million IOTA Tokens

While details are still being kept under wraps, here’s what we can share now:

1. Binance Simple Earn – Locked Product Launch: IOTA: Wednesday, 1 October  

• 2 million IOTA tokens distributed via staking rewards on Binance.
• Rewards scale depending on lock-up period of 30, 60 or 120 days

2. Anniversary Party in Singapore: Thursday, 2 October 

• 250,000 IOTA tokens raffled to 10 winners at the IOTA 10 Year Anniversary celebration event
• Additional prizes: IOTA-branded Keystone wallets and goodie bags.

3. Community & DeFi Engagement

• Two groups of recipients:
  • Holders of the Genesis NFT
  • Contributors ranked on the LiquidLink DeFi leaderboard (distribution proportional to collected points)

4. Native IOTA Token Staking Airdrop

• IOTA tokens distributed to all native IOTA stakers (excluding exchanges and IOTA Foundation, Tangle Ecosystem Association, and IOTA DLT Foundation wallets)
