- Vet highlighted five XRPL upgrades supporting long-term network development efforts.
- Ripple targets quantum-ready XRPL by 2028 alongside lending expansion.
- Security, formal verification, and AMM upgrades strengthen XRPL infrastructure.
XRP Ledger validator and XRP Ledger Foundation community director Vet has highlighted five major developments he believes are strengthening the network’s long-term foundation. According to Vet, the initiatives form part of what he described as “XRP floor building” and reflect ongoing efforts to expand XRPL’s security, lending, liquidity, and future readiness.
The update has attracted attention across the XRP community as developers continue introducing new capabilities beyond the ledger’s traditional payment functions. Vet’s list includes a quantum readiness roadmap, a native lending protocol, AI-assisted security testing, formal verification, and the proposed AMM v2 upgrade.
Among the developments, Ripple’s quantum readiness strategy stands out as one of the network’s longest-term initiatives. Ripple unveiled the roadmap in April, outlining a multi-phase approach designed to protect XRPL from future quantum computing threats. The company aims to make the XRP Ledger fully quantum-ready by 2028.
At the same time, developers are working to expand decentralized financial services on the network. The Lending Protocol, introduced through xrpld version 3.1.0, is currently undergoing community voting. If approved, the protocol would allow loan brokers to create fixed-term, uncollateralized loans using liquidity provided through Single Asset Vaults.

Security Initiatives Gain Momentum Across XRPL
Security improvements remain a major focus of XRP Ledger development. Earlier this year, Ripple established a dedicated AI-assisted Red Team tasked with identifying vulnerabilities and strengthening network resilience.
According to information disclosed by the team, developers have publicly reported 287 xrpld issues on GitHub. These include 231 open reports and 49 resolved findings. Most of the identified issues relate to code quality improvements and additional defensive measures. Importantly, none of the findings affected user funds, network availability, or system stability.
Consequently, developers released xrpld version 3.1.3, which focused entirely on security improvements and bug fixes. The update addressed 20 findings uncovered through Red Team investigations. Work continued with xrpld version 3.2.0, which activated on May 27, 2026. The release introduced maintenance improvements while removing amendments that had remained active for more than two years.
Formal Verification and AMM Upgrades Advance
Beyond security testing, formal verification efforts are also advancing. Common Prefix recently announced a collaboration with RippleX to formally verify critical components of the Lending Protocol using Lean4. This process allows developers to mathematically validate code behavior before deployment and reduce potential risks.
Additionally, liquidity infrastructure continues to evolve. In May, the XRP Ledger Foundation published a draft standard for AMM v2. The proposal introduces StableSwap and Concentrated Liquidity pools designed to improve capital efficiency across decentralized trading activities.
These proposed enhancements could strengthen liquidity management while offering users more flexible options for providing capital within the XRP Ledger ecosystem. As development progresses, the upgrades are expected to support broader decentralized finance activity on the network.
Conclusion
According to Vet, these five developments represent important building blocks for the XRP Ledger’s future growth. As work continues across security, lending, liquidity, and quantum protection, developers are steadily expanding the network’s capabilities while strengthening its underlying infrastructure.
