In late 2018, Ethereum hit $80 - a drop of 95% from its previous All time high of $1400. It is difficult to see ETH dropping further now, but people back in 2018 had no idea it would go down by so much either. For reference, Bitoin dropped to $3200 at the time.

Too many people here downvote any commentary on the slaughter that's happening. You can't even say ETH is going back down to $42 without getting downvoted to oblivion. Not that I'm saying ETH is going back down to $42 dollars, but I think we all should be mentally prepared for the possibility of ETH going back down to $42 because if ETH does go down to $42 there's going to be a lot of people here will be in a very bad place mentally and financially, and that's not good. That would be almost as bad as ETH going back down to $42.

ETH: Will Ethereum ever reach a new all time high?

We are talking about things at scale that people cannot predict. It could go to a new ATH or be replaced by something technologically better. Who would have thought that the biggest company out of the internet bubble would be a book seller?

Unlikely. The crazy gains of the past years have left hundreds of thousands of people broke and only a people that got in before summer 2016 really made some money (ironically ETH is at even lower prices than it was back then).

Adoption is nowhere, most ICOs failed or were simply scams. Bitcoin and crypto and Ethereum interest by the general public is lower than it ever was and "Ethereum" is as trending on Google as it was 3 or 4 years ago and dropped more than 90% in interest over the last 12 months.

Everybody who could be pitched about crypto currencies heard of them one way or another.

There's plenty of crypto bag holders that can't wait to dump their coins sooner or later.

This is Capitulation Day. Reading the daily is heartbreaking, and eerily similar.

TLDR: Pretty much every person was in pain, and thought prices would keep going lower. Those that held anyway were rewarded greatly.
